Perez has been living in New Brunswick for nine months now working as a supervisor at Burger King and enjoys his work. “I had worked as a manager at Kentucky Fried Chicken in the Philippines before moving to the United States so I have experience in this area.”
Mr. Perez moved to the United States from the Philippines to work in the hospitality industry after completing his Bachelor of Arts majoring in hotels and restaurants at AMA Computer University.
After two years working at different hotels in Florida, New York and Chicago, Mr. Perez heard about a job fair in Toronto and decided to attend. “It was at the job fair where I met some recruiters who arranged a job for me in Canada,” says Perez.
Perez was initially surprised that the job the recruiters found him was in New Brunswick. “I thought I would end up in a larger city… one of the major centers,” says Perez, “but then I thought this would be something completely different – a different experience for me - and that I would give it a try.”
New Brunswick is one of those places that invites you to settle in. “This is a place I really want to stay and raise a family someday,” says Perez, who is already making plans to bring relatives from the Philippines to enjoy his newfound home. “This year I am definitely dreaming of a white Christmas.”
