Filipinos in Fredericton joined the celebration of the city’s diverse culture as the Multicultural Association of Fredericton hosted a festival in acknowledgment of the United Nation’s International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
The new Pan-Canadian Framework for the Assessment and Recognition of Foreign Qualifications will advise foreign-trained workers in certain fields within one year whether their qualifications will be recognized.
The Filipino community in New Brunswick is the backbone of our success,” says Clevan Lamason, outgoing president of FANB. “It is the volunteers that make everything happen… from our events to making New Brunswick a welcoming place for new Filipinos.”
