Another FANB Milestone Achieved!

A General Assembly meeting was held Saturday, October 20 at Saint Dunstan's Catholic Church in Fredericton. All the Executive Officers, with the exception of the Vice President; a position that is currently vacant; are present during the meeting. It was attended by members residing in Fredericton and Miramichi. The meeting also welcomed two new Filipinos to the association.
One of the two major objectives of the meeting is the Ratification of the Constitution and By-laws. This was presented to the assembly by its Chairman, Tony Mina. After some deliberation and clarification, the assembly arrived to a unanimous decision. The Constitution and By-Laws of FANB is now in its full effect.

The second important part of the meeting is the discussion regarding the Nomination for Vice-President and for three (3) Board of Trustees. There is an immediate necessity to fill in these positions and the Nomination is now open.
FANB President Clevan Lamason, who also acted as the Moderator for this meeting, has asked the assembly to decide on the date as to the deadline to send in Nominations. It will be on October 31, 2007 till midnight. Members are also encouraged to participate in this Nomination process by logging onto the official FANB website. The names of the nominated individuals are also going to be listed for members access.
It was determined that the date for the Election for Vice-President and Board of Trustees is on November 3, 2007. The venue will be later posted.
Other details are also discussed during the meeting. Some of it involves planning for future goals of the Association as it gets its strong footing. Volunteers are needed to participate in a number of committees. It was emphasize during the meeting that active members are the strength that will sustain the Association. The holiday celebration entitled "Christmas For A Cause" received warm feedback. FANB members and non-members all over New Brunswick have responded to this activity with much enthusiasm.
The meeting ended on a very positive note.
